When Baldur was selected to join my team I was extremely glad to have him. Despite the protests and worries due to his age I knew he would bring exactly what I needed to shape this group into a solid somewhat elite force. He is way past his prime and some would say retirement is overdue but time and time again Baldur proved all wrong. He has seen countless conflict and lead men into battle. Even when the beasts of Tartarus would escape it was usually Baldur who sought them out. His record in battle as well as the experience with beasts made him the best choice to train this team. He was strict and pushed them to their limit. If they couldn't run anymore, he told them to never stop walking. If the couldn't walk, he told them to keep crawling. When they were to tired to even do that, he demanded that they pick up their weapon to defend themselves. If they try to protest he would call his hammer Loeding and strike at them. You know what would happen? They usually picked it up in defense. He showed them that even they think its over there is always something to be done. It was a good lesson and they would need it to survive what is coming.
Named after Thor and Loki's late eldest brother, Baldur was close to 7 feet tall which is common with the Aesir . His head was bald but wore a thick beard. You can see his age in his face but his body said otherwise. He was extremely muscular for his age but what stood out was his runic tattoos that covered his body. Only the queen of the Valkyries could grant runes such as these and they were meant for the best of the best of the Aesir. His runes were for protection which explains the high resilience. His hammer is called Loeding after the chains that held Fenrir. When the chains broke they were forged into a hammer. The hammer is loaded with souls which gives it its magical properties. Its nowhere near as close a weapon as Mjolnir but it has similar qualities. It comes to its owner when summoned but its element was of fire.
Yes, Baldur was a true hero worthy of Valhalla and I'm sure he will see it. When he wasn't training the team he was caring for them. He felt, like most he's trained, a responsibility for them. My sister would joke how he was like a dad to the group. The team definitely felt that way too. That would go to him for knowledge of combat and the world and he usually always had the answer. He mostly kept a stern look and was well mannered but Tie an Tristin knew how to make him go berserk. Those two jokers would poke the bear and land themselves in extended trainings. They would prank Baldur any chance they got. One time, and I give them an A+ for stealth but F- for choice, they braided Baldurs beard while was sleeping and took selfies. He had them in the war room for 2 days straight. Baldur is the best you can ask for in a warrior and a mentor. Which is why I gave him his position. They will need him in these dark times. I am sort of glad cause without a doubt.......he will be there for them
